What are account overrides?
Some organizations manage accounts that need to be assigned to a specific sales rep regardless of geography. These are often referred to as account overrides, key accounts, or special ownership accounts, depending on internal terminology.
How to assign accounts without moving territories
To reassign accounts without modifying zip codes or territory boundaries, change the alignment scope to Only Accounts. Once this setting is enabled, you can use the lasso tool to select and reassign accounts independently of geographic territory assignments.
When to use account-only alignment
- Managing key or national accounts
- Handling special ownership or exception accounts
- Reassigning accounts without impacting geographic coverage
- Maintaining stable territories while adjusting account responsibility
