Sometimes accounts need to come out of your file, duplicates, closed customers, records that don’t belong in this alignment. AlignMix gives you two ways to delete them, and which you choose depends on whether you can point at them on the map or need to target them by ID.
Two Ways to Delete Accounts
The first is visual: lasso an area of accounts on the map and delete the whole selection at once. That’s the fast route when the accounts you want gone are clustered together or fall inside a region you can circle. The second is precise: delete by account ID. Select the account IDs you want to remove in Excel, copy them to your clipboard, and delete that exact set in AlignMix. That’s the route when the accounts are scattered across the map but share something in your data, a status, a segment, a source, so you can pick them out in the spreadsheet.

Delete, or Just Un-assign?
Worth a pause before you delete: are you removing these accounts for good, or just taking them out of a territory? Deleting pulls them from the file entirely. If the accounts should stay but belong to a different rep, you don’t want a delete at all, you want to reassign them or use an account override. And if it’s ZIP codes rather than accounts you’re clearing, that’s un-assigning ZIP codes. Delete is for records that genuinely shouldn’t be in the file; for everything else, reassignment keeps your data intact.
