Save and Copy Maps

In the video above you will learn how to save and copy maps. Any map that you see on your AlignMix screen can be exported to an image file and also copied to your PCs clipboard. If you are using the AlignMix Pro 2 week trial any image export you create will have an AlignMix watermark. If you have purchased the Full version of AlignMix Pro then you will not have any watermarks on any exports.

Export to Excel

The export to MS Excel feature is available in the Pro Trial and Full Pro version of AlignMix. If you are using the Pro Trial, this export will export every other row of data. If you are using the Full AlignMix Pro Version then this export is essentially a data dump of all the data that is found in your AlignMix file.

You can choose to export:

  • Region Assignments
  • District Assignments
  • Territory Data
  • Zip Code to Territory Assignment
  • Zip Code Ranges
  • Sales Accounts
  • Personnel Roster

Choose What Data to Export

Region Assignments

Selecting the region assignments will create an excel tab that shows a table with every region and the data summed up to the region level. In this example regions are the second level of hierarchy. Territories are assigned to districts and districts are assigned to regions.

District Assignments

Selecting the district assignments will create an excel tab that shows a table with every district and the data summed up to the district level. In this example districts are the first level of hierarchy.

Sales Territory Data

The territory data export will export the territory table that you are able to see in the AlignMix software. All of the data that exists in the file will be exported and summed up to the territory level. This export will also show the assigned sales rep and the assigned district (first level of hierarchy)

Zip Code to Territory Assignment

The zip to territory export will give you a list of every zip code and the assigned sales territory. This export is also know as the Zip to Terr export. Many users use this export to update their CRM systems with the most recent sales territory designs.

Zip Code Ranges

The Zip Code Ranges selection will export a range of zip codes with their sales territory, district, region and sales rep assignments.

Sales Accounts

The sales account export will export every piece of account data that was imported into AlignMix. Any sales territory, sales rep, district and region assignments will also be shown in this export. If sales account overrides were created then this too will be shown in this export. This export can be used to be pulled into most CRM systems to assign the correct sales account to sales rep assignments.

Personnel Roster

The personnel roster export will show what sales reps are assigned to what sales territory, district and region. If you imported any additional sales rep information, then that too will be exported during this export.

Exporting Full Zip Code List

AlignMix allows you to export a full list of every zip code that exists in your AlignMix file. This same process applies to any country that you are using. If you are working on a map for Canada, then this process would export the Canadian FSAs into an excel file.

The zip code export will allow you to view every zip code that exists and show you what territory each one of these zip codes is assigned to. Some companies will call this type of file the “zip to terr” or the “zip to territory” or “zip assignment” file. When you have this type of file you can then easily import these zip code assignments into any mapping program to create all of your existing sales territories.

Any export that you use in the AlignMix software will give you all of the most recent data assignments. It will not include original assignments, it will only show you how sales territories and sales reps are assigned now. If you have created a USA map with 100 territories and removed 5 of those territories, then the export will only show the 95 territories that currently exist in your file. The same applies if you have created an AlignMix file for any other base geography like the UK, France, Mexico, Canada, or China. Yes, AlignMix can be used with almost any country. For more information on International maps you can click here.

The zip code export is found in the export to excel button. When you select this option, you will be able to choose what you would like to include in the export. You can export a list of all the zip codes, a list of all sales accounts, a list of the sales reps, and a territory and district table.

The territory table is a view found in the software that shows all of the territory data summed up to the territory level. The same applies for the district and region tables.  You do have the option to select every option during the export to excel export. AlignMix will then place each of the options into a different tab in the excel workbook.

The account list export will show you all the details that you initially imported at the start of your mapping project and include the newest territory, rep, and district assignments. If additional data was imported linked to the account IDs, then that data too would be included in this export. Many users use this export to update their CRM systems with the new territory and rep assignments. This saves a lot of time because every account can be updated all at once, and therefor no need to manually re-assign the sales accounts. If accounts have been deleted from your AlignMix file, then those accounts will not be included in the export because they no longer exist in the file that you are working on. The same applies for any territories and sales reps that have been removed from your file.

The zip to territory export does include more information than just the zip code and the assigned sales territory. If there was data imported at the zip code level, then this data will be exported during this process. The assigned sales rep will also be shown in a data column in this export.

If you created a hierarchy of assignments in your map, then the export will also show these assignments. By default, the hierarchy is territory, district, and region but this can be changed in the AlignMix options.

During the export to excel you can choose to select only one option. This is how you can export just the zip to territory file. If you click on next instead of finish you will have the chance to customize how the excel file will look. You can change the colors and some of the fonts. If you click on Finish instead of next then the excel export will use the default settings for the export. You can always further customize the layout and colors by using Excel.

When the file is exported you can use all the usual excel functions. You can use the sort and filter functions to show just one territories assignment. If you planned on creating individual “zip to territory” territory exports, then you can save a lot of time by using the batch export tool instead of using the export to excel export. The batch export tool will create a separate image and excel file for every sales territory that will include a zip code list and account list for each sales territory.

Batch Export

One really cool feature that comes with AlignMix is the ability to export data and maps from the software. The batch export tool is available to users using the twp week Pro Trial but all images will have an AlignMix Watermark, and excel reports will be missing every other row of data. If you are using the Full version of AlignMix Pro you will not have any watermarks and your excel reports will include all of your data.

The batch export will create:

  • Territory Maps in PDF
  • District Maps in PDF
  • Region Maps in PDF
  • National, Region, District PowerPoint
  • Territory Level Excel Reports

PDF High Resolution Export

New to AlignMix 2021 you can now export high resolution PDF maps. You can also customize the page size and resolution of each pdf export.

PowerPoint Export

One of the newest features to be added to AlignMix 2021. You can now export your sales territory maps directly to Microsoft PowerPoint. These exports can be created at the national, district, or region level. Think of all the hours you can now safe with this new export!

Copy Data to Clipboard

Using the lasso tools you can lasso an area on your map and then place those lassoed zip codes and/or account IDs into your computers clipboard which will allow you to paste that data into Excel, Word, or any other software that allows you to paste data.

Google My Maps Export

In this AlignMix how to video you will learn how to export your sales territories to Google’s My Maps. You can then view your sales territories in a Google Map! and share these maps via a custom link.

Single territory KML Export

Static Layer Export

In AlignMix you can create a static layer from your sales territories, districts, or regions. This static layer can then be used in your current file or saved as a shape file that can be imported into a different AlignMix file.

Filter Data by Static Layer

In this how to video you will learn how to filter your data by a static layer. This is the export you would perform if you were planning to convert your 5 digit zip code alignment map to a state based or county based territory map. The data will be exported and mapped to a state/or county FIPS code. You can then take this export and import the data into a FIPS code territory map and then create county based sales territories.

Export Thematic Maps

Any thematic map that you can view on your screen can be exported to PDF, saved as an image file, or copied to your PCs clipboard.
